Curves of the Nile River and Crop Circles
iss070e002597 (Oct. 1, 2023) — The Nile River, the longest in the world, is photographed as the International Space Station orbited 260 miles above Sudan. Land splits the historic course of the river in two channels before the body of water joins back together. To the right of the image, crop circles are visible. A result of center-pivot irrigation, these circular farming patterns create an efficient method for water conservation while growing crops such as sesame, peanuts, and sugarcane.NASA
