Ecological and social cues orchestrate concerted courtship in Drosophila
Nature, Published online: 04 November 2026; doi:10.1038/s41586-026-11209-9In Drosophila erecta, food odours initiate male sexual arousal, which is subsequently reinforced by the visual motion of other courting flies, creating a multisensory mechanism that synchronizes courtship in groups when conditions are favourable for reproduction.
